At Fox Wardrobes, bespoke means exactly what it says. We manufacture every single element of your wardrobe from scratch in our Rochester factory. Every panel, every shelf, every door, every rail — cut to your exact measurements, designed around your storage needs, and finished to the standard your home deserves. Nothing is off the shelf. Nothing is standard. Everything is yours.
The word “bespoke” gets used a lot in the fitted wardrobe industry — but it does not always mean what it should. Many companies call their wardrobes bespoke while working from a catalogue of pre-made, standard-sized components that get adjusted on-site with filler panels. That is not bespoke. That is adapted.
It starts with a home design visit. We survey your room — measuring the profile of each wall, the levelness of the floor, the height at multiple points — because no two rooms are identical. We then sit with you and design the wardrobe around how you actually live: what you need to hang, what you need to fold, what you need to access every day, and what can be stored higher up.
From there, everything is manufactured in our Kent factory to those precise measurements. Our carcasses are 18mm MFC — a quality board that will not bow or degrade over time. There are a lot of cheap, thin alternatives on the market and we will not use them. All hinges and runners are Blum — the best hardware in the world. Doors are crafted from 18mm or 22mm MDF, with options including safety-backed mirror and Lacobel coloured glass across over 45 styles and 25+ colours.
Where minimal fillers are needed, we keep them as small as possible to preserve your storage space. The finished result looks and feels like it was built with the house.
We survey your room and discuss your storage needs. You get a detailed plan and honest quote, valid for three months. No pressure. No chasing.
Choose from over 45 door styles and 25+ colours. Sliding or hinged. Mirror, glass, wood-effect or painted finishes. The interior layout is designed entirely around you.
Everything is built from scratch in our Rochester factory. Lead time: 4–6 weeks. We take a 40% deposit to get started.
Our own employed fitting team handles the install, typically in a single day. We lay clean dust sheets throughout and leave your room ready to use.

In theory, all fitted wardrobes should be bespoke. In practice, many are not.
The large national wardrobe companies work from a range of pre-designed components — standard widths, standard heights, standard depths. Their fitters adapt these on-site, trimming panels and adding fillers to bridge the gaps. It works, but the result is a wardrobe that fits your room approximately rather than precisely. You notice it in the filler strips, the slightly uneven gaps, and the wasted centimetres where the standard sizes did not quite match.
We do not work that way. We have no standard sizes. Every panel in our factory is cut for a specific customer, for a specific room. That is the difference — and it is a difference you see and feel every day.

Yes, most fitted wardrobes are designed with flexibility in mind. While the primary structure remains integrated with the room, internal components like shelves or compartments can often be adjusted or replaced. Additionally, door finishes or handles can be updated to give your wardrobe a fresh look.
